How are sleeping masks different from moisturisers?

We take utmost care in formulating our skincare routine using face care products such as a natural face cleanser and a natural moisturiser for dry skin. For most people, their skincare routine is a regular CTM (Cleanser, Toner, Moisturiser) process followed by a day cream and a night cream. However, this may not always be sufficient. For your natural products for skin to work wonders, you often need to incorporate boosters such as serums, sleeping masks and more. 


Sleeping masks are often confused with moisturisers, and many believe that one can be used in place of the other. That is as far from true as it can be. Consider a moisturiser as your regular drinking water, and then your sleeping mask is a cup of green tea. The former is necessary to stay hydrated, while the latter boosts detox and nutrients. One cannot replace another as both of them have something essential to offer your skin!

 


How will I benefit from using a moisturiser?


A moisturiser or a night cream is your daily dose of hydration and nourishment for the skin. It is usually creamy in texture and is a must-use for dry skin problems. Apart from providing nourishment as you sleep, a moisturiser also helps-

Instead, health, wellness, and beauty experts recommend using a sleeping mask 2-3 times a week or if you have a big day tomorrow.

How do I use them?


A Night cream or a moisturiser must be used every day. After removing your makeup, thoroughly wash your face with a natural face cleanser. Pat dry and use a few drops of your favourite serum or essential oil. Follow it up with a generous amount of moisturiser all over your face before you hit the bed!
On days that you want to apply a sleeping mask, use it as the last step of your skincare routine following your moisturiser. Massage well to let the product seep in and leave it overnight. You can wash your face with lukewarm water the next day to remove any excess product.
